I was looking at a few references of 3d Trees. All of these are cartoonish yet some are more realistic. The texture on the bark of the first two is wicked awesome. The leaves seem like they would be a pain to create. The log is fairly simple, yet the texture is what really makes it. The pine tree is simple but has great lighting.

Weapons

I made an account under the wrong email, so my name appears twice. Whoever created the blog should change the name so there's no confusion.

Park concept ruffs

so I posted all of them I did but i am leaning towards the one with the star for the establishing shot of the park/thorn bush battle area.
still working on the Thorn Bush area but i am leaning in this direction haha. kinda like a gladiator pit...

Main questions i came up with... is this a city type of park or more suburban type of park..I refrenced Nadines story boards.

I started modeling a bench and some lamp posts...probably need to be redone because i am terrible ;)

I'm not too creative when it comes to interesting camera angles, so critique away!

Thursday 1:10 AM before class

Alright everyone,

Can't wait to see the awesomeness we're all going to show today. Don't get too attached to your work because we're going to decide as a group and most likely take bits and pieces from everyone's storyboards and concepts. By the end of class we need to have a decision on exactly what characters are going to be used. Remember that we are going to have to rig these. The simpler the design, the better. Thanks to everyone that has posted, that's the stuff that makes me think we can actually make this happen. Good night, I'll see you all tomorrow.

Druid/Native female butterfly.

More thumbnail/doodles going on. I want to have at least 6-8 roughs for Bac on Thursday. Keep any thumbs you have or sketches. We want to focus more on ideas right now than finished pieces of artwork. Keep it loose and messy folks.

For your who are going to suggest "Joe, why are they so naked your pervert?!" Clothing design for these guys is going to be minimalistic. Think how the ancient Egyptians dressed or Native Americans. Mainly trinkets, in this case lots of twigs, branches and earthly things found. I also thought of some really cool water designs, if you look at a droplet of water it contains itself in that drop. Planning on incorporating that design in the next brutal doodle.

Female Butterfly Concept

One of the painted concepts for the female butter flies. I was thinking considering there are two types we could make one more of a naturist faction. Playacting on the idea of a primitive race and more so modern group having a conflict. Feed back is always welcome, these are rough concepts so clarity on details will be provided in finished illustrations.

Script

NOTE TO PRODUCTION TEAM – Is this script too short or too long? How much work do you realistically think we can do? Be real with yourself and the rest of the group on how much time and effort you’re willing to put into this project. Let’s not have another ZERO Production. Please make any alterations/ revisions as you see fit and send it back please.

Wide shot
Sunrise or sunset over a Park with butterflies fluttering around.

Pan or truck down:
Full shot
A solitary flower gently moves. A couple walks down a path in front of the flower. (Maybe we see their legs then their full silhouette as they go down the path)

Cut to:
Medium shot
The couple sits down on a bench and the woman says, “Oh look at the pretty butterflies.” The husband is disinterested but still looks and shrugs.

Cut to:
Full shot
Butterflies having an aerial battle shouting at each other. (Background is blurry and moves by quickly)
Close ups
Butterfly #1 – “The nectar will be ours!”
Butterfly #2 – “Never! The flower belongs to us!”

Cut to:
Perspective shot of butterfly #1 flying and shooting butterfly #2

Cut to:
Medium shot of Woman looking confused.

Cut to:
Wide shot of butterflies over the field. A small explosion followed by a trail of smoke.

Quick zoom:
Butterfly on fire falling.
Butterfly #2 – “Mayday! Mayday! Tango alpha zulu niner! I’m going down! Repeat! Going down!

Cut to:
Wide shot of Butterflies on a stump or log like on aircraft carriers, moving hoses and boxes, waving orange lights.

Zoom to:
General butterfly walks over and grabs a phone off a butterfly’s backpack then shouts
General – “Let’s get some reinforcements down there now!”

Cut to:
Butterflies emerge from cocoons then swoop down into the battle.
(OR SHOULD IT BE)
Butterflies taking off from the stump into the battle.

HOW DO WE END THIS?
Wide shot:
Park. Couple gets up from bench and walks away in the background.
Pan to flower from the intro (maybe the exact same establishing shot). The flower opens and a caterpillar is eating it
OR
A caterpillar emerges from behind the flower while eating it
